What have I done for you?
Nothing
Peeled off your skin
Or the melting butter
As it sizzled in the pan
I did not let you pick up
My pieces with prongs
Nothing
You could not get in
But I waited
For the knock
For you to break through the window
Walk on the glass pieces
Come to me
Smelling of my thoughts
The fever of having burned in my fire
I was waiting for your ire
Nothing
Watching the darkness
That even stealth was afraid of
I imagined you being the dark
Black
Cloaking me
Choking me
Till that muffled cry
Took your name
A name that has spread like ink on every page
Nothing
With amber eyes
Beams darting out
Through the thick curtains
I parted them and saw
The sun arrive
A hint of a glow
You streamed across
A cloud like snow
That passed through my sky
Nothing
The sheets stiff as though slept in by the dead
The water flask is empty
The tongue dry
You are no bird
That can fly
Into my wingless world
I cannot give those days you want
I cannot extract moments from life
Take life
Kill my being
Nothing

Good one, but not as good as some of the ones you have penned earlier. Mind you, this is my humble opinion and not a judgement.

This depicts emotional loneliness and emptiness like an empty bucket.....
Too, close to emotions , yet so far...

My most favorite shairi is this...
"BOHUT DAIR KII MERBAAN ATIY ATIY-
KAHAN CHAL PARIY HUM KAHAN JATIY JATIY"....SIGH****
"MUJH SAIY PEHLII SII MOHABAT MERAIY MEHBOOB NAA MAANG"....SIGH***
PS:
Your opinion accepted. I am possessive about it as of all my poems, and cannot look at it technically or even with 'objective' emotions. I do believe it could be set to music, though!
circle:
"Too close to emotions, yet so far"...could not have put it better...aise hi lagta hai...
Here is something by Nida Fazli:

Just a thought...I could have dedicated to 'a life less useful'...'useless' would be too much....
[lekin jab ham mil jaate hai.n, kho jaataa hai jaane kaun]
Excellent!
