Back to the back

I have avoided recounting memories of any of the places affected. But today indulge me only for a while. I have already written about the Sea Lounge…but I had my first meeting with my ex at the Oberoi.

I got married there.

And a couple of days after our divorce, we met at the same Oberoi lounge area off the lobby. I reached early. Fortunately, the same sofa was occupied. I had to take the only one available, which was across from it. He walked in. We were meeting because I had to take my things. He then fished inside his pocket and brought out the rings – the wedding one, a gold band and one with some gemstone.

“Do you want them back?”

No. But I took the gold band. I had given it to him when I heard him talking with a friend and they were discussing about visible symbols of marriage.

The symbol was redundant because the purpose had become so.

We had coffee. I paid. The first time he had.

Another life’s transaction was completed.

Hmm... Nice piece. Very factual, sans any emotions.

All relationships have planned obselence, they are dated , the date they will start and they date theyw ill end ....remember the "Best before" Date ...

Btw, Generalisation is a sin ....all Pakis dont intend to hurt India .....some Indians are hurting India more than the Pakis and some Pakis are hurting their religion beyond repair .....hope someone evolves a method to this madness...I didnt write because when you are upset or excited or angry , thoughts get skewed...and sense of fairness disappears....I have reconciled with one fact, these jihadi boys are hurting Islam like no one....my grandmom used to say , all wounds of the summer, cause pain in the winter ......

There is nothing wrong sharing memories, people are going on with life and after 2,3 days will forget.no need to feel guilty. You are too sensitive

PS:

Facts, when they are personal, are emotional.

Manish:

Re. writing or not writing in a state where one is emotional, I have always written in that state.

Unlike many others, i don't pretend and talk through two sides of my mouth.

I believe what your grandmother said to be true.

Thanks for sharing the poem.

KB:

Yes, I am sensitive...the ones who should feel guilty are being glorified as the beacons of hope.
