Awaaz: For Mehdi Hassan

Oss nahin
Sookhe pattoun ke
Shaakh se girne ki
Awaaz

Leher nahin
Toofan mein paani ke
Patthar se takrane ki
Awaaz

Saraab nahin
Reit mein bikhree hui
Garm hawaaon ki
Awaaz

Sheesha nahin
Kaanch ke tukdoun se
Zameen ki chubhan ki
Awaaz

Marham nahin
Dard ki cheekh se
Raungtein khade hone ki
Awaaz

Tarz chhedkar taar todne ki
Awaaz
Aate-aate laut jaane ki
Awaaz

  1. Whom do you consider yourself ?
You are self proclaimed writer, who is writting Crappy things Always.

Mehdi Hassan Sahab will definitely have a big regret as somebody like "YOU" , who is not a so unhuman has written such article. PLEASE keep your mouth shut and Donot write anything about such great personalities.

  2. Quite reprehensible that their conscience doesn't pinch them before they deface an obituary like comment #1.

The news of Mehdi Sahabs demise is very saddening indeed.

  4. Mehdi Hassan sang two of Ahmed Faraz's best-known ghazals:

"Ab ke hum bichchde, tau shaayad kabhi khwaabon mein mile"

"Ranjish hi sahi, dil hi dukhaane ke liye aa"

Two souls...I wish I had met Mehdi saab, a missed opportunity, really.

  5. although, I have listened to Ghulam Ali more than Mehdi Hasan; he was a favorite of my aunt and after listening to "ranjish hi sahi" I understood why.

It's strange, but I noticed people often take sides. My mother seemed more in tune with Ghulam Ali,although she was later mesmerised by Mehdi Hassan. His rendition took getting used to.

I don't know if I've shared this here, but it is said he always had a tea cup during his live performances. Of course, the beverage was stronger than tea!

That is something you have to live with. I don't. Worse, you have to live with yourself and your devious ways, and you know what I am talking about.

Stop this cyber stalking. And, no, you do not 'know' me. You wouldn't be allowed near my little toe nail.

If you want to play games, try something you can handle and with someone your size.

Your unposted comments reveal a lot about you...and the ulcers eating you up.

Get well for your own sake.
