But I must admit, while watching it, I was a bit afraid that at some point the animation was going to sprout a beard (or other masculine attributes)...perhaps alluding to the innate man within every woman - or some other high-bro stuff along those lines.

The beauty of art is that the innate man/woman in us does not surface...at least artistic folly is not prey to follicles.
